I just won the 150K Checkpoints jackpot!

I’ve discussed the Checkpoints app in the past.  It’s an app that lets users earn “checkpoints” to redeem for prizes.

You can download this app for iOS or android at http://www.checkpoints.com.

Every time you go shopping, you can scan products with the app to earn “checkpoints” and “coins.”

In the past, I have been using Checkpoints to earn free airline miles.  In fact, I have earned thousands (4,000) of American Airlines AAdvantage miles just by using the Checkpoints app to scan random products whenever I’m at the grocery store.  Every time you scan an eligible item at the grocery store, you are awarded 10-12 Checkpoints and 1 bonus coin.
These coins can be used to play the Checkpoints games.  There is a slot machine game and a scratchers game.  I prefer the slot machine game since it’s easier and faster to play.  As I’ve said before, I win 20 to 50 checkpoints about 30-40% of the time that I play the slot machine game.

Yesterday while getting groceries at Ralphs, I spotted this interesting Checkpoints sponsored hand sanitizer and I took a picture of it:
I continued to scan a few items and earned about 150 checkpoints with scanned items and slot machine game play.  Later on, I was surprised to see that I won one of the big prizes, 150,000 Checkpoints!  I didn’t think I was ever going to win one of these jackpot prizes, but here’s the proof:
What is 150,000 Checkpoints worth?!
  • 8,100 Checkpoints = $25 Amazon Gift Card = ~$460 Amazon credit
  • 8,370 Checkpoints = $25 Best Buy Gift Card = ~$440 Best Buy credit
  • 9,000 Checkpoints = $25 Shell Gas Gift Card = ~$410 worth of Shell gas
  • 3,750 Checkpoints = 500 American or Delta Airlines miles = ~20,000 airlines miles!
  • 16 GB iPad 4 Wifi
  • And many, many other prizes.
As you can see, I’m quite excited about this recent winning.  The points alone can be valued at up to $500, the retail price of a 16GB iPad 4 Wifi.

I’m now debating whether to get a free 16GB iPad 4 or saving up some extra points to get a $500 Louis Vuitton Gift Certificate for 154,500 Checkpoints.  Decisions, decisions.

I highly recommend giving Checkpoints a try.  It’s easy to get the hang of the app and easy to start earning points right away.  Every time you go grocery shopping you can snag a few Checkpoints.  Before you know it, you’ll have a ton of Checkpoints to earn rewards with.

and feel free to help me earn extra points by registering with my bonus code: yoyoyoo.  Good luck!

UPDATE:  I went ahead and earned some more checkpoints, and redeemed the $500 LV giftcard as a present for my wife!  It took a little over a month for me to receive my prize in the mail.  You can read about that experience here.
